Our day camps are beginner-friendly and provide a fun introduction to martial arts. While there is a martial arts class each day, the camp is also a high-energy, active event with a focus on fun, incorporating field trips, arts & crafts, science, and more. Our experienced staff are skilled at making the activities engaging for all kids, regardless of their martial arts background.
Campers should come prepared each day with:
- A camp or VMAA t-shirt (provided on their first day)
- Non-slip socks
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Comfortable clothing suitable for exercise (sport pants are recommended)
- A nut-free packed lunch and snacks
- A water bottle with their name clearly labeled on it.
Please note that any medications or medical devices (like epi-pens or inhalers) must be labeled with your child’s name and handed directly to a camp counselor at drop-off.
Generally, we do not split groups by age; we keep all the campers together. We’ve found that this approach works well, allowing older campers to be positive role models for the younger ones and fostering a supportive environment. We also have junior camp counselors who assist and mentor the older campers.
However, for certain activities, we may split the kids by age or skill level when it helps ensure everyone is involved and gets the best results from the lesson or activity.
This is a special program offered within our camp, specifically designed for students with prior experience in martial arts, gymnastics, or tumbling.
Whether you are getting ready for competitions or want to significantly improve specific skills, this program is for you.
Prior martial arts, gymnastics, or tumbling experience is required. Please contact the academy before signing up to ensure it’s the right fit.
