This weekend, Team Vital Martial Arts Academy traveled to Orlando, Florida, to test their skills at the 28th Annual International Chinese Martial Arts Championship (ICMAC) held at the Caribe Royale Resort.
As one of the premier Chinese martial arts tournaments in the country, the ICMAC brings together hundreds of competitors and top-tier talent from across the globe. Stepping onto those tournament rings in front of expert judges is never easy, and our team stepped up to face the challenge.
Solid Effort and Honest Growth
Competition at this level offers a true reality check for any martial artist. While every tournament day has its ups and downs, our students held their ground, showed great spirit, and delivered a respectable performance across their forms, weapons, and sparring events.
We didn’t sweep every podium or take home every trophy, but that was never the primary goal. What mattered most was seeing our students step out of their comfort zone, execute their forms with discipline, and represent our academy with humility and respect.
Every division gave us invaluable feedback. We saw clear proof of where hard work in the studio paid off, as well as exact areas in technique, precision, and mindset that we need to sharpen moving forward.

Looking Ahead
We want to extend a sincere thank you to the parents, families, and team supporters who traveled with us to Orlando, as well as Sifu Nick Scrima and the ICMAC staff for organizing another well-run event.
Competing shows us the path ahead. We are back in the academy this week, taking the lessons learned from Orlando, and getting straight back to work.
