Vital Martial Arts Academy Students Shine at USAWKF National Kung Fu Championships!
The 2023 USAWKF National Kung Fu Championships was held at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center in Lubbock, Texas from May 26-28, 2023. The event was a qualifier for the 9th World Kungfu Championships to be held in Emeishan, China from August 23-28, 2023, and the 4th Pan American Kungfu & Taijiquan Championships to be held in Ontario, Canada from August 3-7, 2023.
More than 300 athletes from 30+ schools across the United States competed in the championships. The event featured a variety of Kung Fu styles, Wushu, Sanda, Shaolin, Wing Chun, and Tai Chi.
Brooklyn “Anya” Moore and Gabriel Moore, students of the Vital Martial Arts Academy, competed in the championships.
Anya won 🥉 third place in the advanced Shaolin forms category with a personal best score of 8.8. She has also qualified for the USA National Kung Fu team and will represent the United States at the Pan-American Kungfu Championships.
Gabriel won 🥈 second place in the beginner Shaolin forms category with a score of 6.6. He is an inspiration to his fellow students and a credit to the academy.
